What is the Difference between Amazon Echo and Amazon Alexa?

What is the Difference between Amazon Echo and Amazon Alexa?

Do you want to buy one of the latest Alexas that are all the rage? Is it just ua, or are Google searches just turning up Amazon Echo? Are you perplexed?

Don’t worry, we’ll put an end to the mystery once and for all. The word “Alexa” may have single-handedly sparked the smart speaker craze, but the Echo’s often-overlooked name was equally significant.

It may be time to clear things up before Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday, as smart home devices are typically a big part of both events’ sales.

So, how do Alexa and Echo vary from one another?

The response is actually very simple, and the two are quite similar in several ways. Alexa is the name of the virtual assistant – the voice you speak to, ask questions to and pester with song requests. The actual goods themselves, the speakers that contain the AI Alexa, are simply referred to as Amazon’s Echo.

Of course, you must say the word “Alexa” every time you use the Echo, prompting many people to refer to the smart speaker simply as Alexa. It’s the biggest brand mix-up since vacuum cleaners were called Hoovers!

So, when you buy an Echo – or even an Echo Dot or Echo Display – you’re also getting an Alexa.

However, just to throw you off, To add to the confusion, Alexa is now available in a variety of non-Echo smart speakers, including the Sonos One and even some Ford cars.

What is the cost of an Echo?

So, depending on the model you choose, you have many choices for purchasing an Amazon Echo – and, of course, Alexa.

Amazon’s flagship smart speaker, which retains its classic design, can now do much more than just play music on command – it can even connect with other speakers, monitor your wellbeing, and power a variety of smart home devices. It now comes with 360° Dolby speakers, so the musical roots haven’t been overlooked.

The Echo Dot, Amazon’s spirited younger sister, packs all of the original’s smarts into a more lightweight (and cheaper!) box. The most famous smart speaker from Amazon now has a new fabric design and a better speaker.

Amazon Echo Show (Amazon Echo Show)
